strung out in heaven
dahnatron:

Something feels very right about studying again. Like I’m finally on the right track. Don’t get me wrong, I am giving myself permission to change my mind as many times as it takes on how to spend my life, this field just seems to be the perfect combination of all my interests.
The balance of work/school/life/assignments is not one I’m familiar with and it will take some getting used to. So will the early starts.
So far, this course rules.
Check back with me in 6 months when I’m huddled in a dark corner crying about what a fraud I am.

Ah, my sweet Building 94. I love this place. I started back this week for my second year of Professional Writing and Editing and I’ve instantly gone from ‘hmm, maybe I’m just not a great writer’ to ‘I’m so motivated I’m going to quit my job and spend the year writing two novels’. I have one more class this week and I’m so excited about it that I’m actually looking forward to getting up at 7am tomorrow.
The not-so-good bit is the massive hike in TAFE fees this year, due to our delightful state government. I’m paying 35 times more than I paid last year. Admittedly I paid fuck all last year, but this means I’ll now have a HECS style debt long after I finish studying.
